Organization/Member Spotlight

Tell us about your organization!
Through the power of people and partnerships, Forest ReLeaf of Missouri is building a resilient tree canopy across Missouri by growing and planting trees to enrich communities.
Forest Releaf of Missouri has supported the planting of 250,000 trees over 30 years, because healthy trees support healthy people and communities. Our unique organizational approach to grow canopy includes
- growing quality native trees that will be an asset to people and places
- giving trees at no cost to grassroots community groups planting on public and nonprofit properties
- engaging and activating partners through workshops and resources, and build confidence in tree planting and successful maintenance
- planting and stewarding trees in tree-deficient locations that need additional support
Will you share a success story or impactful moment that illustrates the difference Forest ReLeaf makes in the St. Louis region?
With a 9-acre tree nursery in Creve Coeur Park and operational offices in St. Louis City, Forest ReLeaf has deep roots across the St. Louis Region. Between tree planting projects and tree distribution, Forest ReLeaf provides over 6,000 trees a year to support St. Louis’ community forest. Most often these trees are planted in schools, churches, pocket parks, and common ground by volunteers dedicated to making positive change in their neighborhoods. Forest ReLeaf supports these local leaders with critical technical assistance and resources to confidently meet their tree goals. For “tree curious” folks, Forest ReLeaf offers meaningful volunteer opportunities, outreach information, and education to show residents the value and benefits of trees, building urban nature advocates who understand trees are critical green infrastructure in their communities. Many positive individual and community impact stories and images can be found here: https://moreleaf.org/impact/
How can individuals and the community get involved or support Forest ReLeaf?
- Take advantage of Forest ReLeaf’s CommuniTree Program (now through November) by organizing a tree planting project with your neighbors, work, school, scout troop, or city and get FREE trees from Forest ReLeaf; tools and technical assistance are also available!
- Volunteer at the tree nursery Wednesday and Friday mornings and/or at community planting projects.
- Donate to support social, economic, and environmental tree impacts that benefit your whole community.
- Become a tree advocate by participating in Forest ReLeaf’s educational programming and engaging with the TreeKeepers and ForestKeepers Networks.
Why are you excited to be a part of Nonprofit Marketers’ Network?
We look forward to learning new ways to tell our story and bring more people into the work of planting trees and enriching communities.
